This feature will surely offer users greater control over their messages, especially for sensitive or confidential information that needs to be kept secure. The upcoming update will offer users 15 new options when setting up disappearing messages, including durations of 1 year, 180 days, 60 days, 30 days, 21 days, 14 days, 6 days, 5 days, 4 days, 3 days, 2 days, 12 hours, 6 hours, 3 hours, and 1 hour. We previously announced the development of this feature in a previous article about the WhatsApp Desktop beta app but this update serves as a confirmation of that announcement. The feature is still in development on WhatsApp Desktop beta but, thanks to the latest WhatsApp beta for iOS 23.7.0.71 update, we discovered that it is also under development on the iOS app:Īs you can see in this screenshot, WhatsApp is developing new durations for disappearing messages, available in the future when selecting the “More Durations…” row. Thanks to these new durations, disappearing messages will be an even more relevant option and will attract more users. The update would bring 15 new durations for disappearing messages, in addition to those already available such as 24 hours, 7 days, and 90 days.

Last week, we shared an article about a new feature under development on WhatsApp Desktop beta: an update for disappearing messages. It should now appear as a profile download under More For Your iPhone in the settings app – between your user profile and Aeroplane Mode.Check out TestFlight or Twitter to discover when it's available. This is how it was done at the time:Īll you need to do is download the profile onto your device via Safari.

Sites like Beta Profiles let you get your hands on iOS 15 quickly and simply. Some of us were impatient and have been running the public beta since WWDC.

This means that 2015 phones will still be supported, which is quite good. Another lovely surprise from WWDC 2021 is that all of the devices that were compatible with iOS 14 will continue to be so with iOS 15.
