The upcoming update will offer users 15 new options when setting up disappearing messages, including durations of 1 year, 180 days, 60 days, 30 days, 21 days, 14 days, 6 days, 5 days, 4 days, 3 days, 2 days, 12 hours, 6 hours, 3 hours, and 1 hour. We previously announced the development of this feature in a previous article about the WhatsApp Desktop beta app but this update serves as a confirmation of that announcement. Thanks to these new durations, disappearing messages will be an even more relevant option and will attract more users. This means that 2015 phones will still be supported, which is quite good. Another lovely surprise from WWDC 2021 is that all of the devices that were compatible with iOS 14 will continue to be so with iOS 15.
